When I got out of the military last year, I wanted to write a tribute to veterans and first responders. I figured the Remembrance Day season was the perfect time but, this song is dedicated to anyone who’s ever had trouble transitioning to civilian life and anyone that’s ever pondered getting out because they’ve had enough and weren’t sure of the next step.

Just for the record, I love the Canadian Forces. I did have some mental issues when I was leaving but, bottom line is I’ll have friends who I’ll consider family til the day I die from the military even if I don’t get to see them enough, the CF paid every bill I’ve had over a 21 year span and I’ve done some very cool things that most of the population could only dream of. I just wanted to write a song that I was able to “feel” a little more rather than the traditional songs you’ve heard for veterans and first responders.
